Hello and welcome. You'll find unique, one of a kind, works of Art designed by Janie Dugan-Downey on this website. Every print is professionally reproduced on Acid Free Artist Paper and signed by the Artist. Please feel free to drop a line, if you have any questions. Rosie and I welcome you. (Puppy mill rescue)
JANIE DUGAN was born and raised in small town Ontario. She was involved in the arts as an actor in the local dinner theatre in Buckhorn, Ontario, where she also self- published her Maternal Grandmother’s Book, Songs for Sighs, (2010), Rosa Bateman McGee circa 1888-1958.
Janie’s style is divided between Turkey Quill art and a paintbrush. Intuitive or drawn from visions and dreams, her style is Impressionist and unique. Ms Dugan's Turkey quill style of drawing was taught in class one afternoon by a leading black & white oracle psychic from the Tweed area; Sterling Sinclair. She has added colour and her own ambience to the personalized drawings she presents. NB> Please understand that Janie has never had a 'reading'. She believes that she was lead to this man and appreciates the skills he presented and the knowledge that was gained from their relationship.
In May of 2019, Ms. Dugan was fortunate enough to attend a Masterclass from the world renowned Artist, Robert Bateman. Changing her style to Realism is quite a challenge and Janie is looking forward to presenting some of her latest paintings in her new style soon.
Recently, Janie is studying under the guidance of Robert Bishop from the Leamington area.
Her paintings have been in local galleries for various Exhibitions such as: The Nancy John Gallery, The Gibson Gallery, The Arts Council of Windsor (Heat) and currently from September - 2020 at the Leamington Arts Centre.; with the Christmas Sale happening Nov. 26 -Dec. 20, 2020.
Through her artwork, Janie hopes to inspire others to respect the environment, to conserve and to recycle and further, to consider the reality of Climate Change and the effect it has on our World or to consider questions of Social Justice.
Janie Dugan-Downey is offering First Edition Numbered Prints. These prints are professionally reproduced on Acid Free Artist paper. Her art has been copied in complete detail either on a Giclee Printer or in 12 colour ink. Giclee Printing means the squirting of paint onto paper or canvas, matching the original artwork colour exactly, and producing a print identical in imagery, as close to the original as possible.
